Major tribute paid to the work of CIVALLI by CIGA's Consumer Champion

Teresa Perchard's CIGA's Consumer Champion Review of Customer Service

I pay tribute to the voluntary Cavity Insulation Victims' Alliance (CIVALLI) for its work helping individuals to track down the relevant installer.

However, I think the industry, including the major Energy Suppliers, OFGEM and the government should be ashamed that they have not put in place a proper and easy

to use system for the consumer to be able to find out who installed a publicly funded government programme required insulation measure.  This is not a problem only CIGA can solve - though it should play its part and make its own handling of coomplaints as simple and straightforward as possible.

I am therefore also asking the Government's Bonfield Review to address this and come up with an appropriate consumer friendly solution and service to enable individuals to trace the identity of the installer of the cavity wall insulation at their property.

We at CIVALLI have read many hundreds of terrible stories of misery caused by peoples homes and lives being wrecked by the cavity wall insulation industry. This particular case has touched Claire and myself greatly - this is a tiny snippet of the whole story which we wanted to share.

Thanks to the help and support of CIVALLI we are aiming to help this family  obtain a semblance of justice which they deserve.

Huge number of properties wrecked by cavity wall insulation in Rydyfelin, Pontypridd, South Wales

CIVALLI  has been requested by the Welsh Assembly Member Mike Antoniw to help property owners in his area who are suffering from the catastrophic consequences of botched cavity wall insulation.

Many victims are elderly, with no access to the internet and who have nowhere to turn.  The intervention on their behalf by their Assembly Member has had no positive results, UNTIL he became aware of CIVALLI and the free helpline for victims seeking justice.

CIVALLI has made contact with all of the victims and is in the process of helping them all gain redress for the terrible damage caused to their lives and health.

We will keep you updated on events.

Pauline and Claire meet with Dr Peter Bonfield - CEO of the British Research Establishment

We were delighted to be invited to meet with Dr Peter Bonfield, the Chief Executive Officer of the British Research Establishment on 30 October 2015 at Southampton, and his assistant Alison Oliver.

Partly due to the pressure applied by CIVALLI on the Government Dr Bonfield has been commissioned by the Government to carry out a survey of the UK into energy saving measures...

The meeting was highly informative and we were very please to find that the aims and objectives of CIVALLI are exactly those of Dr Bonfield.

One of Dr Bonfield's tasks is to investigate the problems within the current retrofit cavity wall insulation industry and he is also to advise the Government of a comprehensive, independent Consumer Complaints System and Ombudsman for the many thousands of victims of inappropriately installed cavity wall insulation across the UK

We are to going to work closely with Dr Bonfield and provide statistics and information where possible to assist in his tasks.

We look forward in a few months to a very positive outcome........

Message from Welsh property owner after the BBC TV X-Ray Programme 12/10/15

'seeing you on catchup TV and the documentary featuring your organisation it suddenly clicked and I rushed to write to you.  I was especially interested on hearing of the Mark Group and their installation problems and how other people's houses have been wrecked....thank God my house is soundly built and doesn't seem anywhere as bad as some of your clients.  Now I think I know why I have been struggling to deal with the damp in my house!
